You can insert a table into the course page using the Old Classic editor. Highlight the number of rows and columns you want, then left click to select.

You can add text to any cell by clicking in the cell and typing the text you want to display. You can also copy and paste text into cells.
You can quickly format tables with alternating colors that help learners distinguish one row of data from another. Also, you can change the cell width and height under the same menu.
Right click the cell, go to the Cell properties and change the background color and/or the width of the cells.
