Welcome to the new editor—a more intuitive, streamlined, and distraction-free space built to help you create engaging courses with ease. With real-time, WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editing, your course always looks exactly how it will appear to learners—ensuring accuracy and a smooth, no-surprises authoring experience.

This guide walks you through the interface, features, and best practices to help you make the most of the new experience.

Your course, your way

There are two layout options to choose from, depending on your course goals and content structure:

  • Multi-page layout: Best for in-depth learning journeys, where you want to break content into structured sections and pages. This format works well for comprehensive topics that benefit from a step-by-step flow.

  • Single-page layout: Ideal for shorter topics or microlearning. All your content appears on one continuous scroll, making it quick to go through and easy to digest.

You can switch between the two modes at any time—your content remains intact, and nothing is lost during the transition. However, for already published courses, changing the layout will affect the learner’s progress.

Note: If you switch from multi-page to single-page and then back again, the course introduction will appear as a standalone page at the top of your course. You can simply copy its content into the description box on the course cover and delete the extra page if needed. All your original content will still be there and unaffected.

Opening a multi-page vs single-page layout

When you open a multi-page course in the new editor, you'll see two primary areas:

  • Left side: Course cover

This is where your course title and introduction appear. Use this space to give learners a clear overview of what they’ll gain from the course.

  • Right side: Course outline

Here you’ll find your course outline—sections, pages, and questions. Click Add item to add new sections, pages, or questions.

Note: Your course outline stays with you throughout your authoring journey. While editing sections or pages, it appears on the left side of the editor—so you can easily add new items or rearrange existing ones by moving them up or down, right from the outline itself.

Best practices for multi-page courses

  • Sections help you group related topics or concepts—like units in a course.

  • Pages are where you dive deeper into each topic, much like chapters in a book.

  • Questions are great for reinforcing learning and checking understanding.

  • Use clear, descriptive titles to help learners easily navigate your course.

When you open a single-page course, you will see a blank canvas where you can start adding content blocks of your choice directly from the Quick Access Toolbar or dragging and dropping from the content blocks list.

Quick Access & Mini Toolbars

To help you create courses faster and more intuitively, we’ve introduced two new toolbars designed to keep your most-used content blocks right where you need them:

  • Quick Access Toolbar
This appears within your pages and features the seven most used content blocks: Text, Image, Video, Document, Flip cards, Hotspot, and Checklist. For everything else, just click More to open the full list of content blocks in the left-side panel—organized into categories for easy browsing.

  • Mini Toolbar
This appears in your introductions and questions. It provides quick formatting options without cluttering your workspace. To keep things simple and focused, content blocks in these areas are limited to:

    • Introductions: Text, Image, Video, Audio, Document.

    • Questions: Text, Image, Video, Audio, Document, Hotspot.

No more hunting around—just smooth, streamlined authoring that keeps you in flow.

A clean, focused authoring experience

We’ve further streamlined the interface to keep you focused on what matters most—creating great courses. The Action Panel in the top-right corner now neatly brings together key functions like Settings, Comments, Collaboration, Preview, and Publish—so everything is right where you need it, without the clutter.

Meanwhile, Learner results have been moved outside the authoring experience. It will now be a part of your course card, making it easier to access and view at a glance.

With a cleaner layout and smarter organization, the new editor helps you stay productive and in control every step of the way.
