Learners enjoy exploring and discovering things for themselves. Flip cards help you increase learner engagement through animation and movement. You can add information, tips, questions, and answers, explain terms or show images with Flip cards.

Add a Flip card Block

  1. Open a course, then edit an existing content page or create a new one.

  2. Click on the Insert Block icon (+) and select Flip cards from the Interactive category in the left-side panel.

Add, Reorder, Duplicate, or Delete Cards

The numbers on the image correspond to the steps described below.

  1. To add a new flip card, select your Flip card block and click on the Add icon in the top left corner of the Flip card block.

  2. Click on the Cards Grid icon to choose if you want to display one, two, or three cards per row. There can be three cards in a row maximum. If you add more, they will be displayed in a new row.

  3. Click on the Cards Alignment icon to select the alignment (left-aligned, centered, right-aligned). The cards are centered by default.

  4. Reorder the cards by hovering over a card until the Move icon appears on the left-hand side of the card. Then click and drag the card where you want it to be.

  5. To duplicate a card, hover over it and click the Duplicate icon that appears.

  6. To delete a card, hover over it and click the Trash icon.

  7. You can also move, duplicate or delete the whole Flipcards block.

Add Text and Images

  1. Click on your Flipcard block and choose if you want to add text or an image.

  2. The text option allows you to enter your text and modify its style (bold, italic, underlined), color, and alignment (left-aligned, centered, right-aligned). The font size adapts automatically to ensure that the text fits the card.

  3. The image option allows you to upload an image from your computer, select from your library, choose from stock images, or add via the link. You can zoom the image and position it within the card. We recommend using a square image to minimize cropping. You can also add text under or above the image, to do so, add the image first, click on it, and select the order (image on top or on the bottom).

  4. Click on the Flip to back/Flip to front button under the card to edit another side.

Learners always see the front side of the card first. To flip the card, learners can click on it or click on the Click to flip icon under the card.
