SCORM Import (Articulate Rise)

Import SCORM packages from Articulate Rise to create fully editable courses in Easygenerator.

Written by Veronica

SCORM Import allows enterprise customers to migrate existing Articulate Rise courses into Easygenerator by uploading a SCORM package. Easygenerator automatically recreates the course using native blocks, making the imported content fully editable and ready for updates.

What is SCORM Import?

SCORM Import is designed for organizations that want to move their course libraries from Articulate Rise into Easygenerator. By importing a SCORM package exported from Rise, Easygenerator reconstructs the course structure and content as closely as possible using native Easygenerator blocks.

This significantly reduces migration time—from weeks of manual rebuilding to just a few minutes per course—while preserving the learning experience.

Note: This is an enterprise-only feature and is enabled on demand.

You can request your Customer Success Manager to enable this option for you. Once enabled, you’ll see an “Import SCORM package (Articulate)” option when clicking on the "Create course" button in Easygenerator.

How to import a SCORM package from Articulate Rise into Easygenerator

Once SCORM Import is enabled for your account, you can import a Rise course in just a few steps:

  1. Click + Create course from the Home or Courses tab, then select Import SCORM package (Articulate).

  2. Click Upload and select the SCORM .zip file from your computer.

  3. Wait for the import to complete. Easygenerator will generate a fully editable course using the content from your original Rise course.

File requirements

To import a course successfully, your SCORM package must meet the following requirements:

  • Source tool: Articulate Rise only

  • SCORM version: SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004

  • Maximum file size: 500 MB

  • File format: SCORM package (.zip)

Important:

SCORM Import supports courses created in Articulate Rise. Courses created in Articulate Storyline are not supported.

If a Rise course contains embedded Storyline blocks, those blocks will not be imported and will be omitted during conversion.

How SCORM Import works in Easygenerator

When you upload a Rise SCORM package, Easygenerator:

  • Reconstructs the course using native Easygenerator blocks

  • Automatically maps supported Rise blocks to the closest Easygenerator equivalents

  • Converts the course into a fully editable Easygenerator course

There may be minor visual or structural differences after import, depending on the original Rise blocks used.

  • Storyline blocks

  • Dividers

  • Charts

Alternatives and workarounds

If your course uses unsupported blocks, you can recreate similar experiences using Easygenerator’s native blocks after import. This may include:

  • Replacing complex interactions with text, image, or interactive blocks

  • Manually adjusting layout or structure to better match the original course

Some post-import adjustments may be required to fully align the course with its original design and behavior.
