Sharing content between courses is getting simpler. The re-use section feature is being removed on 21 September 2026, and Copy section — already live today — becomes the way to bring a section from one course into another.
The difference is ownership. A re-used section was shared between courses, so an edit or deletion in one course changed every course it appeared in. A copied section belongs to the course it sits in, so you can adapt it freely without worrying about what else it might affect.
Copy a section into another course
When you copy a section, Easygenerator places an independent duplicate of it in the target course — pages, questions, and media included.
Here's how it works:
In the course outline, click the More options (three-dot) menu next to the section you want to copy.
Choose Copy to.
Select the course you want to copy the section into, and confirm.
The copied section is now part of that course. Editing it there has no effect on the original, and deleting it there leaves the original untouched.

What happens to your existing re-used sections
You don't need to prepare anything, and no content will be deleted. On 21 September 2026, every section you previously re-used becomes an independent copied section, owned by the course it sits in.
In practice:
The pages, questions, images, and settings inside each section stay exactly as they are.
The re-use indicator disappears from the section.
Syncing stops — editing or deleting content in one course no longer changes the others.
Published courses are republished automatically. They stay published and look the same to your learners.
Unpublished changes are left alone. Easygenerator won't publish on your behalf; your edits go live the next time you publish yourself, and your learners' results are preserved.
Important: This is a one-time change and can't be undone. If you rely on several courses staying identical, you'll now update each one individually.
Why this change helps
Each course owns its own content, so an edit in one place can't unexpectedly change a course someone else maintains.
Deleting a section no longer risks removing content from courses you didn't open.
You can tailor a copied section to its audience instead of keeping it generic enough for every course it appears in.
Course structures are easier to reason about, especially when you're co-authoring.
